For my project today I got a rush order from a friend who needed thank you cards. I decided to do them all the same way, but with different colors and patterns. Here is the first one. Super easy to make, but I think it looks nice and gets the job done. :0)
For my project I used some Recollections card stock for the main card. I then cut 3 1/2" x 1" strips of scraps in fall colors. I lined them up in the Cuttlebug folder: Divine Swirls and ran them through my Sizzix Texture Boutique. I then inked the edges and the tops (where the embossing is) with Stampin' Up inks and Colorbox Cat's Eye ink.
The label was created by cutting a 2 1/2" strip of the same card stock as the main card and running it through my Big Shot machine with the Sizzix Sizzlits Decorative Label Set #4 (label 2). I just love that set! I used a $1 stamp that I got at Michael's then inked the edges and faux stitched with my Zig pen. I pop-dotted the label for some dimension and added two rhinestones from Creative Charms.
To finish it off, I added a strip of brown ribbon I have in my stash and cut another piece to make a little bow. I used Red Tape to adhere the ribbon and good ol' super glue for the bow. :0) To adhere everything else, I used my ATG.
Again, in order to be eligible to win the awesome blog candy given away (there are three sponsors), each day, remember to leave comments on ALL of the blogs in the hop. The prizes will be chosen by dividing the comments into the top three and Gill will announce the winners on her blog later in the week, after the hop closes. The prizes are pictured on her blog, and trust me, you don't want to miss out. I sure don't! :0)
Thanks for joining us!

Amy Jo! I LOVE the card! Such a great idea to use different strips of coloured card and emboss them all.
The label is fab too, and I really like the faux stitching.
Well done!
As you know, I'm already a follower. I really hope you're keeping well and that the dog situation is sorted out.

I love this card Amy! And the best part is, I almost have everything to copy it (if you don't mind). Funny, I was standing in Michaels last week looking at Cuttlebug folders and I was picking between the swirls that you used and the spots and dots (or something like that). I picked the dots, but now I will have to go get that swirl. I already have paper just like that. This is so simple and yet fabulous at the same time - proves you don't have to spend hours on a fabulous card! I would sure love to see the others you made - you said thank you cards right? I am a follower of your sweet blog so I will check back to see if you post them. Thanks for the inspiration!
what a great idea, look great!!!
