Hoppy Easter Card for Challenges

Hi Everyone!  Seems like I've been a little MIA.  I have actually.  My hubby and I have been busy turning our guest room into my very own scrapbooking room!  We have painted the walls an amazing bright pink and the inside of the closet is now black with (soon to be) white furniture inside.  It's coming along nicely and it's wonderful to have a room to go to now that really gets me out of bed and motivated.  I'm going to purchase either a big black shaggy area rug or a zebra print rug for the room next, then I plan on framing some of my favorite fashion scrapbooking paper to make some gorgeous wall art.  Can't wait til it's all setup completely!  I will post some pics for sure!

On to the card... I made this cute little card yesterday for a challenge that required ribbons and pastel, however, by the time I got it all finished up, that challenge was already closed! :( So, I have been searching around and found some other challenges to enter it in and then it is going on to a friend of mine who has ordered a set of Easter cards. BTW, I am now taking Easter orders!

I am so pleased with the way this turned out!  I  even got to use my Copics for the first time!  My hubby bought me a set for my birthday and I am soooo happy to finally bust them out of the box, but I really need to learn how to blend and how to properly use them so, homework time for me!

For this card I ended up using four different types of ribbon!  Some came in kits that I have gotten and the cute tulip ribbon came from RRR.  I just love it and thought it was perfect for this card.  I put the green wavy ribbon below it to make it look like grass.  I made a bow at the top so I could qualify for the "Tie a Bow" challenge over at My Craft Spot.  This is the first challenge over there, ever!  Yay!  Fun blog, check it out.  :0)  The complete list of challenges I'm entering is at the bottom of this post.

I used a pretty pastel purple cardstock for the card from a stack that came from Joann's as well as the yellow cardstock.  They are having stacks on sale for $2.00 now!  If you shop online, please go through my site for special deals.  http://www.amyjrockstar.com/ I would so appreciate it because I get credit for every sale made through my site and my clients get (sometimes) special benefits as well.  In fact, if you do shop through Joann's through my site, please let me know and I'll come up with a little something special for ya! ;)  The background paper came from my stash.

For the rest of the card:  the bunny is a stamp from Sandylion (same set that I used for my previous butterfly card) that I cut out and colored with my Copics.  The spring is a stamp from We are Memory Keepers: Maple Grove, and the Hoppy Easter is a stamp from Making Memories:  Magnetic Stamp Sayings.  Ink is a standard black from Colorbox.  I also used my black Zig to add some definition and drew on some spots. :0)

The flowers are Prima and the brads are Basic Grey.  I used my ATG gun and superglue for my adhesives and inked all my edges with a gorgeous Studio G eggplant color.  Love those and they're only $1 at Michael's!  That's where I get into my trouble is the dollar section of those stores.  Before you know it, I have 50 things picked out, translating to $50!  So easy to do!

Well, I hope you all have enjoyed my first little Easter card and please leave your comments.  I read each and every one and it really just brightens my day.

The Shabby Tea Room Challenge - #54 Bingo, My Craft Spot Entry & More!

Hi Everyone!  I have actually been fairly productive today.  :0) I'm so proud!  I'm also on a steroid pac (prescription of course) which is providing all of my energy right now. LOL  Hey, whatever gets the job done, right?

Anyways,  this card I've created specifically for the challenge over at The Shabby Tea Room and also for the challenge at My Craft Spot and Getting Cricky with K. Andrew and then it's heading over to a relative.  I think this is one of the prettiest cards I've done if I do say so myself.  It just all came together so well!  Be sure to check out the challenge to see the other beautiful (though very many!) creations.

Here is mine...

Thank You Bird Card Shabby Chic

Thank You Bird Card Closeup Right Side

Thank You Bird Card Closeup Bottom

All right, there you have it!  Now on to the details of the card:

The challenge required we use certain elements in a particular order that they listed on a bingo chart.  I actually used more than was necessary, but the went so well!  I used Row #1 - Brads, Lace, Gems.  In addition I used Glitter/Glimmer, and Flowers.  There's a bonus if you use all 9 elements, but I didn't want to overdo it on this card cause I liked it the way it was!

Background cardstock:  Stash
Background paper:  DCWV Be Mine Paper Stack (I cut the bird out, then popped it up so I could add lace to the background paper.)
Brad w/compass:  MME Stella & Rose
Ivory lace:  Decorative Trim from Michael's $1 bin (I think)
Floral embellies:  Prima - So Cute collection
Jute twine:  Joann's
Rhinestones:  Kaiser
Rubber Stamp:  I'm not sure where I got it but it's in a set of six
Ink:  Color Box
Adhesives:  ATG and Tombow

If you have any questions, please feel free to drop me a line.  I'd love to hear form you!

FCCB Challenge #52 - Robin's Birthday, B-day Card for my Nephew

Hi Everybody!  It's time for another Challenge Me Monday over at FCCB.  Today's challenge is all about birthdays.  It's Robin's birthday so of course I made her a card, but I also plan on entering it in at least one more challenge before I send it out to our lovely leader.  :0)  - I finally got to use something other than the font on the Storybook Cartridge.  I think it turned out soooo cute!  Robin, I really hope you enjoy the card and thank you so much for all you do!  I'm so glad to be on your team and to work with such a talented crew.  Thank you for picking me to be a part of something so special.

Also, I created another birthday card that I wanted to share with you.  This one was for my nephew who just turned 10!  I decided to do another easel card and wanted to stick with something he's into these days so I was super happy to find a four-wheeler (or quad, as they call it in Arizona) on my Potpourri Basket cartridge.  That cartridge really does have a lot of cool stuff to use for all sorts of things!  If you have it, pull it out and look at it again.  I was pretty amazed that I need to make a fly fishing card and sure enough, there's fly fishing die cuts on there.  That's a very hard to find item so I really lucked out!

Anyways please join me all in wishing the lovely Robin a super happy birthday!  Come on over and join in the challenge so you can enter for the blog candy and let me know what you think of the cards!  Here we go...

Full Card

Close up of Alphabet Dots

Close up of Flower Cut and Brad

The details for this card are as follows:
It is a 6" square with plain white card stock.
All other paper I got from my friend Jill Coleman at Stampin In His Name.  She is a Stampin' Up Consultant and the reason I shop with her is because I won some awesome blog candy from her site. :0)
The white background lace is from RRR.  Their selection and prices are fantastic!
The cute little flower brad is from a kit I purchased on ebay.  Not sure what brand it is. :(
I have tons and tons of those little alphabet dots from Scrapworks Alphadotz.  Got them all from ebay kits.
I inked using Cat's Eye Ink (Available from me for $2.00 each.  Email or comment if interested.)  I also added some pretty rhinestone bling.  Not sure of the brand though.  I punched the corners with a corner punch that I've had forever and finally got some use out of that little guy!
Of course I used some mini pop dots and my ATG gun along with red tape adhesive.  If you have any questions or need any further directions, feel free to holler!

I am posting this for the challenge and also for the challenge over at Crafting With Cristina before I send it off to Robin.  :0)

Next I have the card I created for my nephew...
Full Easel Picture

Top Part of Easel

For this card, as I mentioned above, I used the Potpourri Basket Cartridge.  I cut the background paper from stuff I had in my stash.  How perfect is that for looking like a dirt track road?  I was stoked that I had it handy.  The rest is just cardstock also from my stash.  I used stickles and glossy accents and believe it or not, lots of pop dots!  Wish I would have taken some better side shots to show that.  Of course I inked everything with Cat's Eye ink and the chalk ink you find at Michael's in the $1 bin.  I also popped up the tire track with a pop dot to keep the card open how it should be.  A little trick I've found is to put some pieces of pop dot behind where the card is supposed to set as well to make sure it stays pushed forward.  Hope that makes sense.  If you need clarification, let me know.  I pop dotted the clouds and just used my black Zig pen to hand write the message.    For adhesives I used my ATG and my Zig Two Way Glue Pen, along with my Tombow Glue Pen (fine point).

This was a fun card to do for a boy.  I always find it more difficult to do something for boys, but this is one that will work for many different occasions!  Thanks all for checking it out.  I plan on entering some challenges if I can find any that call for birthday cards.  If you know of any, please let me know!  I'd appreciate it!

Thank you all for checking out my blog and don't forget to play along on Monday at the Fantabulous Cricut Challenge Blog and wish Robin a Fantabulous Birthday too!  :0)

Happy Birthday Easel Card for Challenge

Hello beautiful, talented, kind Friends.  Here is my 2nd post for the day!  Can you believe it?  I'm feeling ambitious after lying around reading all day. ;)  This is my 2nd easel card and I really think it's so darn cute!  I created it for my mom to send to my nephew, but she already sent him a card so this one is going up for sale!  I thought it would be perfect for the challenge going on at The Shabby Tea Room!  Once again, my pics are a little blurry, but I think you can see it well enough.  I'll try to get my photography skills down and also my editing skills.  I have so much going on that I never take the time to crop properly, but I will work on it!  Let me know what you think...

Happy B-Day Grandson Full Pic

Top Half

Bottom Portion

For this card I used a buttery yellow Bazzil background (just love that color) with the rest of the cardstock from Recollections at Michael's.  The Happy Birthday paper was in my stash from a Craig's List purchase. :0)  The green button is from Bo Bunny.  The stamps are from Technique Tuesday.  I used Glossy Accents on the sprinkles and, if you notice, the candles.  I tried to make them look a little waxy and I think the technique worked pretty darn well!  I also used some red Stickles for the candles and cotton candy Stickles for the cheeks.  I used a Cat's Eye ink for the edges ( You can now purchase from me for $2.00!!!) and the Simply Charmed cartridge for the cake.  I think!  I have all my stuff packed up right now so we can paint my new craft room!  Please correct me if I'm wrong about the cartridge.  For the life of me I can't remember for sure if that's the one or not.  :(  For adhesives i used my ATG Gun and pop dots as well as my Zig two-way pen.

Thank you guys for poppin over to check out my creations today and wish me luck on the challenges!

Shamrock Thank You Card for Challenges

Hello Friends!  I have decided to actually enter some challenges so I have been paying attention to what is going on in blogland and trying to keep up.  I had to make a thank you card for a friend, but there were a few challenges that went right along with what I had in mind for my friend's card so I killed several birds with one stone! LOL

I will be entering this one in the Card Cupids challenge and possibly some others if I find some with the same theme.  Wish me luck!

Also this will be my first post of the day.  I should have another one coming up so please check out both!

I apologize for the blurriness and poor quality of the pics.  Sometimes my camera works great and others, it looks better on the camera than on the computer.  :(  I'm posting two pics so you can get the gist of what the card really looks like.  Btw, the center with the diamond shamrock is pop dotted up 1/4", which does not show at all in the pics.

Shamrock Thank You - 1

Shamrock Thank You 2

I made this card for some friends who had us over for an early St. Patty's Day party and feast on Saturday.  I wanted to keep with the theme so I used Designer's Calendar for the glittery green shamrock and backed it with some awesome paper I won from Jill Coleman of Stampin' Up.  In fact, all the paper except the background is from Stampin' Up.  It's so gorgeous that I got right online and ordered more!  I used some light Kraft paper for the background and made the card a 6" square.  I'm really into the square cards right now even though they require more postage.  You seem to get a little more room to work with!  Once again, this card went totally astray from my original idea, but I really love the way it turned out.  I only wish I had better close ups to show you all. :(  I used 4 cute little brown buttons from Bo Bunny and inked the edges of everything with a Cat's Eye that I NOW SELL!!!  Will tell you more about my newest endeavour in another post!  :0)  The buttons are actually glued onto a border of ribbon (Spool O' Ribbon).  It looks like a paper border, but it's actually ribbon.  I used two yellow glittered brads as well from We R Memory Keepers. The word "Thanks" are black stickers from my stash.  If you want any more details feel free to comment and I'll get more exact details for ya.

Thanks for checking out my post today!

Hip to Be Square - FCCB Challenge

If you are looking for the Spring Forward Blog Hop please see the post below.

Hi all!

I decided to post a last minute project for the FCCB Challenge Me Monday post and I am also entering it into the challenge for Card Cupids.  I'm not sure if it will be posted up there (at FCCB) or not (it was) because I submitted past the deadline, but it wasn't a mandatory post for me so it's totally ok!  I just decided today that I really wanted to make a St. Patty's day card. :0)  BTW, if you do head over there, please check out the Sunday Spotlight as I was one of the gals featured!!!  It's so awesome to be a part of an amazing Design Team (DT)!!!  I'm one lucky lady!

Well here is my one and only  1st St. Patty's Day card.  The challenge is to create a square card and use the colors green and gold (or yellow) for FCCB.  You all have time tomorrow to create and post a project like this one and you can be entered to win some fun blog candy.  For Card Cupids, the challenge is to make a "Green" card.  This is my version.  :0)

St. Patty's Day Card

I had a lot of fun figuring out what to do with this card.  It went in a totally different direction than I had originally intended, but I like the way it turned out.  I used the Designer's Calendar cartridge for the shamrock in the circle.  I used yellow cardstock from my stash, gold ribbon from RRR, background paper from Sweet Peach Crop Shop, St. Patrick's stamp from Stampin' Up, Lucky stamp from Making Memories, bling from K&Co. and the rest of stuff including the frame and red square from my stash.  Used a lot of pop dots on this one, though you can't tell from the angle of the picture.  I used my ATG gun, which, btw if you don't own one, you are missing out!  It is so easy to use and the adhesive lasts forever.  Tip:  Buy it at Michael's or Joann's with a 40% off coupon.  Then it's affordable.  :0)  The shamrock is cut in a really pretty glittery green.  The flash makes it look more gold.  The size of the card is 6" square.  Square cards are fun because it seems like you can squeeze more onto them.

Well I hope you all enjoy and have a Fantabulous Monday!!!

Spring Forward Blog Hop

Hi Everyone!

Welcome to the Spring Forward Blog Hop, jointly hosted by Celeste at Touched by a Butterfly and Lora at Notes from the Scrapbooklady - Thanks for stopping in to see the great spring themed projects designed by all the talented participants.  I was lucky enough to be allowed to participate along with these talented bloggers!  You should have arrived here from the talented Sue but if you just happened upon my blog and want to start from the beginning, check out the list below!

This blog hop will offer one lucky blog hopper a TWO PART blog candy.  Celeste and Lora have both put together prize packages and will each mail their prize package to the ONE LUCKY WINNER!  The rules are pretty simple - visit each participating blog and leave a comment - a winner will be chosen from among all posts left at Notes from the Scrapbooklady blog and then we will verify that the winner has visited and commented on each blog.  The winner will be posted at both Notes from the Scrapbooklady and Touched by a Butterfly and will have one week to contact Lora or Celeste with a mailing address for their prize packages.

Some of the participants may also be offering their own individual blog candy (including me!)  - please note their terms and conditions.

This is too funny... So, I've known about this hop forever right?  Well I just realized at 9:00 my time that it starts Friday, not Saturday and HELLO, I'm supposed to have made something for the hop!!!  I mean, what's a hop without a project?  Our challenge was to make a Spring themed project and of course I hadn't made a single thing!  Oh no, right?  Well, I technically had one hour to get it done so this is a little late and I'm sorry, but late is better than never!  Good thing I'm one of the last on the list.  :0)

Spring Card

Butterfly Closeup

Flag Closeup

For this "spring" card, I cut a 5x7" piece of cardstock from my stash and then used a cute mushroom background paper from K&Company for the front of the card.  The butterfly and trail are stamps from Sandylion and the trail has some K&Co. pearls and some Pearl Stickles for the smaller areas.  I faux stitched around the edges with my black Zig pen and then used the leftover strip of cardstock for the sentiment, which is from My Pink Stamper (Buggy Punnies).  Lastly I adhered a flower from Bo Bunny to fill up that last little corner.  And of course I inked the edges of the card and the background paper.  I think it turned out pretty well for being a super quick job!

Now, naturally, I am giving away some blog candy, but unfortunately I did not have time to get a picture up.  I promise though, it will be worth your time.  I will send out a grab bag of random goodies like I usually do.  :0)  There is a catch to be entered to win though... You must be a follower and you must leave a comment.  There now, that's not so hard is it?  I will announce a winner on Monday and the winner will have 72 hours to get back to me.  Please be sure to leave me a way to get in touch with you so I can let you know if you're the winner!

Onto the next and final stop which is the lovely YolieDon't stop here, you've almost made it!  Go on over and show her some love!  Be sure to leave her a comment too so you can be entered for the grand prize.

Thank you all for hopping along!

Valentine's Day Cards 2011 Part 2

Hello everyone!  Hope you've all had a wonderful day and are winding down nicely.  I'm still all amped up from the fun steroids I'm on (for fibro, not for fun). ;0)  They sure do help me get a lot of work done, but man, the mood swings and inability to sit still are out of control!  Anyways, that's not why I'm blogging... I decided to get back in the swing of things and post some of the rest of the Valentine's cards I made for Valentine's Day.  I know, it's way past that now, but thought I'd get them up here.  Better late than never, right?  Please note that some of these are from a kit I purchased, however, I did a lot of my own adjustments and styling on them.  I did not have to cut out any of the Cricuted pieces or panels of paper or cardstock though.  They were already precut from the kit I bought at Capture, Inc.  Definitely made my life easier!  The last card, is completely my own design.  I'll give you the Deets at the bottom.  :0)

Happy Valentine's Day

Thanks for baring through all the pictures!  Whew, there's a lot there and I'm still not done with Valentine's Day posts!  We'll start with card #1 and work our way down to #5.  Only 4 cards were included in my kit, but I managed to scrimp and space them out to make 5 cards.  I'm very thrifty like that! ;) LOL

Card 1 Details:

All of this card came from the kit, but I did add red ink and Stickles! Stamp is from Pink By Design (PBD) for the sentiment. I also used my awesome ATG (Auto Tape Gun) and Pop Dots from Recollections at Michael's.

Card 2 Details:

Same as above!

Card 3 Details:

Same as above, but I did a bit more Stickles on this one.  "Grandson" stamp is from Technique Tuesday (also purchased from Capture, Inc. in Fort Collins)

Card 4 (Banner Card) Details:

Here's where I decided not to follow the design in the kit.  For whatever reason, it just didn't work out for me, so this is what I ended up with.  The stamped image of the flower (used on the card below) was supposed to go on here, but it just looked too full so I added a sentiment and the ribbon and called it good!

Card 5:  This one was created completely on my own.  I used the stamped image from the kit (but also purchased the stamp set so I could use it any time) and another set that included the I Love You.  The Happy Valentine's Day stamp is from PBD.  The ribbon I got as part of a mixed lot of ribbon from Really Reasonable Ribbon.  If you haven't checked out their site yet, you are totally missing out!  They have a fun blog along with challenges and chances to win awesome prizes!  Plus, they have great customer service!

I colored the images with Zigs and with my colored pencils.  The heart rhinestone is actually a real pretty amber color and is part of a Valentine's brad set I bought (sorry, don't recall what brand).  I can look it up if anyone has questions, I'm just in bed right now, unwilling to move. LOL  The cardstock is part of my stash and I stamped the background with a cute little hearts background stamp from Stampin' Up with an orangey ink from them as well.  I'm pretty happy with the way it turned out, even though it's not your typical pink valentine.

Well, that's all I have for tonight!  I hope you all enjoy and weren't bored to death with my belated post.  It won't be the last so be prepared!

My First DT post for FCCB!!! Challenge #50

Hi all!  I know it's been a while since I've actually posted a project and gosh, I sure hope I haven't posted this one before because I'll be in trouble! :p  I actually created this card a while back to give away as a set for Christmas gifts, but it took me so long to create I only got to actually send off two or three to my sister-in-law!  I did cut enough of everything to make more though, just haven't got around to it yet.  Sorry the pics aren't the greatest, but I wasn't planning on having it featured on such an awesome blog as FCCB (Fantabulous Cricut Challenge Blog)! We are supposed to post something new that we created for this particular project, but I just love this card and couldn't think of a better design for the challenge than this, so here it is!  Come on over to the site to see the rest of the amazing design team's work and to get some inspiration for creating your own tree card to get you in the mood for Spring!

Front of Card (1)

I made this card with a window because I wanted to try something different.  I inked about everything I could possibly ink on this one.

Details:
Printed paper:  The Best of K&Co. stack
Background and plain cardstock:  Recollections from Michael's
Pop dots
Cricut carts:  Gypsy Font, Give a Hoot (tulips and grass), Wall Decor and More (tree)

Hope you all like the card and please head over to FCCB and check out the Challenge Me Monday post!

P.S.  Did I mention that if you participate in the challenge, there is a chance to win AWESOME PRIZES???  Well, if that doesn't motivate you, I don't know what will (they are very generous btw). :0)

Last Weekend's Haul

Hi Friends!  I was actually able to get out for two hours on my own last weekend and have myself a little shopping spree.  I went to Michael's and put stuff in my cart, pulled stuff out, put stuff in, until finally I was so weak and hungry that I had to get out of there!  Did you know in the clearance section sometimes they have these awesome grab-bag type kits you can buy for $9.95?  Well I never knew that, but I purchased two and I could not believe all the awesome stuff I got!  In fact, most of the stuff you'll see in the pics (picture heavy, btw) are just from those two mixed goody bags!  The awesome thing about that is what a way to get some great stuff for yourself and then have tons leftover for RAKs and blog candy at a super price!  They are kind of hidden so you have to dig hard to find them, but I can't wait to buy some more!  I also got some on sale stickers and random things for projects I have coming up.  Without further ado, here are the pics...

I also bought a lot from the $1.00 bin, as usual; however, the ribbon was 25% off so only 75 cents per roll!  Not too shabby.  Get excited ladies and gents because some of this will be coming up as blog candy in the future! ;)

Hope you all are having an awesome day and tomorrow I will have some more great Valentine's cards to post for ya!
